Blackbird

Much of today has been passed in setting up my new laptop, then deleting and archiving and transferring stuff from my old laptop.  Strange to have a machine which doesn't get alarmingly hot within minutes of switch on, doesn't make a constant whirring noise and doesn't need me to go away and make a cuppa and do some jobs before it decides to let me do something!

The rain has returned so not much blipspiration, however this male blackbird has taken to sitting on the clematis and he waited patiently in the rain whilst I changed lenses.  It's taken through the window, hence the lack of sharpness.

Hobbling in the rain tonight methinks....

At no.2 is Rose Marcario, boss of Patagonia who doesn't want to sell us more stuff.  In 2019 the company ran a Worn Wear Repair Tour, fixing clothes for free to help reduce emissions associated with new clothing.  Rose has been responsible for cutting waste and improving sustainability in the company, and shared their findings with other apparel companies.
At no.7 is Kimberly Bryant who set out to improve the percentage of African American women in tech jobs in the US by teaching coding skills to 7-17 year olds from under represented communities.  So far, 14 000 girls have learned programming and the aim is to train 1 million by 2040.
At no 11 is Kate Raworth who wrote the book Doughnut Economics which advocates the pursuit of growth to create a society that meets the needs of all its citizens within the limits of the planet's resources., promoting decent work, reduced inequalities and responsible production and consumption.
