Bottom of our Street

It's the Place de l’Abbé-Georges-Hénocque--not the first time I've blipped it. (This is a more romantic view.) But this view somehow struck me more than most, on a mostly cloudy day just after some rain. Georges Hénocque* (1870-1959) served with distinction as a chaplain with the French army during the first world war, earning multiple decorations.  As a cleric he spoke out against the Nazis during the occupation, and ended with deportation to Buchenwald; he was liberated by the Americans.
