Cat Pouncing (Rue Cremieux)
This afternoon we took an outing with two different destinations, entirely with the 57 Bus from the bottom of our street. The first was Rue Crémieux, in Paris's 12th arrondissement. It is a narrow street, perhaps 150 meters long), with uniform 3-story buildings in delicate pastel colors and extensive plantings for its entire length; the blip shows one of the buildings. Our second stop was at the Maison Doisneau in Gentilly, just south of Paris. The small museum is dedicated to Robert Doisneau (1912-1994), who was born in Gentilly and became one of the great French photographers of the 20th century. It has an exhibition of photographs by the American Jane Evelyn Atwood (b. 1947) of prostitutes and trans-gender people in Paris in the 1970s (not an edifying subject).
