Ready, steady....

Nearly off!
A truly wonderful experience this afternoon; a husky sledge ride! Eight huskies can go pretty fast, and we did, winding through snow covered woodland and up and down quite steep tracks. More snow fell as we were out. Fantastic! Great to have time with the very friendly huskies and to hear about the family they and their humans belong to.

Later we spent an evening waiting for and even capturing the Aurora Borealis. Lots of real photographers in our group with big cameras and tripods and knowing all the settings etc. A great talk explaining it all. I didn’t know it takes a camera lens to capture what is happening in the sky... very simply put.

We needed and enjoyed the shelter of Sami tents and hot tea and coffee throughout the visit.

Great to get off the ship today. Three days at sea, rough seas too, is a long time.
