Meet Little Luna, the Year's First Filly
I met Penn State's first little filly born this spring. (The first foal of the year was a boy.) She's a sorrel filly by Red White N Good and out of Hello Dollin (Time to Touch x Cascades). She and her mom were in the enclosure right in front of the horse barn, directly across the road from our famous stadium.
This little gal has a marvelous crescent moon shape on her forehead. So I have unofficially named her Luna! She was born early in the evening of March 2, so as of this day, she was going on two days old. Hello, pretty baby!
In other news, a good friend of mine at work is retiring as of this Friday after 29 years at Penn State. I have a vacation day scheduled for Thursday and I don't work Fridays anymore, so this was our last day working together. A happy occasion for her, but a sad day for us, to see her go!
She asked that we take a few pictures, so we did. In the extras, you may see (clockwise from left): Maggie, Joann (top), Terry, and me in the middle front. (You've met Terry and Maggie before, as they are members of my little Risky Bisquers group.) Thank you, Joann, for everything!
The song for this blip is dedicated to the little moon-girl in the photo above: Transvision Vamp, with Sister Moon.
