Off my beaten track

Headed to town just after 8am to have bike serviced at the Bike Ambulance.  Deposited it  with Sam by 8.20am with intention of collection at 11ish.  On leaving bumped into  former colleague, Tanya heading to work.  We agreed we'd book seeing an event at the approaching Cambridge Literary Festival.
Shops were still closed and market stallholders were decanting merchandise from vans to stalls.
Managed to kill two and a half hours, browsng  carpet textures/colours and armchairs in John Lewis and various shops before receiving text from Sam at 11am that bike was ready. Bought supplies from market and supermarket before collecting bike. She runs like a dream now.  Cycled a little way off my path and saw the main and extra blips.
Sent Sam a text to tell him the bike runs like a dream, he responded - cheers, any time.
