Diary of an Edinburgher

Walkies

I felt a wee bit stiff from yesterday's workout, which is good, I think. Kate had told me not to go to the gym for a couple of days, so I didn’t. But JR did, of course.

Robert texted yesterday to say he had a cold and couldn’t take Archie out today as usual. And so I decided to accompany JR to the Hermitage, as I haven’t been for ages.

We drove down to the Duck Pond and parked. It was lovely through the trees, one of the best doggie walks in the city. But we didn’t make it right to the cafe at the other end. And it was a much slower walk than JR and Archie do on their own. (6,236 steps)

In the afternoon JR went into town, and I relaxed and listened to my audiobook. Louis Theroux was talking about his dealings with Jimmy Saville, which was quite interesting. It was in more innocent times, because he definitely was just openly creepy, and got away with it.

I had planned to watch the women's cricket, but there was none. Both semi-finals were rained off in Australia, with no reserve day. So it's a bit tough on England and Australia who are knocked out without bowling a ball.
