Feats of strength and other divertisements

This was a sombre day. Liverpool lost for the first time in living memory, and the mood in the Ottawacker household was dark. Fortunately, Ottawacker Jr was defying medical opinion to attend a U9 try out at the time, so this misery had no company.

But then we got invited to dinner at Mitch's. I sometimes think we only chose Ottawacker Jr's three godparents because of their ability to cook: his Polish godmother, German godfather and Canadian godfather may come from disparate backgrounds, but they have one thing in common. They are all the most incredibly inventive and talented chefs.

Ottawacker Jr always looks forward to his visits, as he gets to pester Nico (my godson) and David. And Mitch too, of course. This time, we had the feats of strength series of entertainments: arm wrestling, emu tickling & thumb wars. 

And wine.

A great time was had by all.
