Purple Finch

Knowing that I wouldn't have much time for photography today I was glad when I spotted this beautiful little purple finch in our feeder this morning before leaving for work. I'm pretty sure there is already a purple finch on the Blip Big Year list, but I'm going to tag it anyway!

Today was bitteringly cold with temps in the middle teens ~ and that's Fahrenheit! It's currently 14 degrees F (-10 C) and tonights low is forecast at 8 F (-13 C)! These low temps are forecast for most of this week .... brrrrrr! Is it spring yet?!?
