Good Neighbours
This morning we delivered the food we had collected in the food drive to the Kobe Social Action Centre in the Catholic Church. There were a few homeless people at the centre, so the children were able to hand the food to the recipients in a very personal manner. The manager of the centre said that we are welcome to join the regular weekly food kitchen and help to distribute the food. I plan to make this a regular event. Unfortunately, owing to the coronavirus, the soup kitchens in March have been cancelled.
Sadly, school has been cancelled for the children for the last two weeks of term leading up to the spring break, so I won't see my class until April (at least.) Thankfully, we had the fun of the Good Neighbour Event to enjoy in the afternoon, and I took the opportunity to join in the fun with the kids, including getting my face painted as your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Teacher.
Aw heck, I'm gonna miss these guys!
