Palheiro Gardens

These are my favourite gardens, high, near the golf coast, with (almost) views over Funchal and the North Coast. They are the gardens of the Blandy family, who still occupy the house which is liberally marked as PRIVATE. 

You reach them via the 36A bus, and even  from the bus stop there are plenty of uphill stretches while you enjoy the stunning plants and landscaping.

I have lots of delightful garden and flower photos, (extras) but this chap stole the show.
