But, then again . . . . .

Three Minds With Not a Single Thought.

"Two minds with not a single thought" was a tag line of Murgatroyd and Winterbottom (aka Etonian Ronald Frankau and Liverpudlian Tommy Handley), "those two professors of mirth" were a 1930s radio comedy duo: a sort of Morecombe and Wise of their era. They're a little before my time but, since I'm a sucker for nostalgia, this picture reminded me of them, and although I have recordings of an awful lot of early radio programmes, this pair have so far escaped my clutches.

Mr T (he really is known as that) and his two dogs are regular walkers in Roslin Country Park with the subtle colours of their matching ensembles; he is park's gate-keeper, custodian, call him what you will he is, to all intents and purposes, the "Monarch of Roslin Glen".
A keen observer of human stupidity, he always has a story or two for whiling away the odd hour.
A man of many talents, he has given popular talks at the local heritage society about his years on a trawler during the infamous cod war, as a superintendent of The Forth Road Bridge, and I know he could and, probably will in the fullness of time, do another one on British Rail.
