The Two As at Cromlix

At last my birthday treat of afternoon tea at the Cromlix House Hotel in Dunblane came to pass . Having been given the present by my stepdaughter in early November and having booked a date straight away , this was the first Sunday free.

Because I have no car and the hotel is in the middle of nowhere I had to enlist the help of the gift giver and her fiancé to get me there and join me for the feast.

The Cromlix is no longer owned by Andy Murray, but has been an expensive success since it’s inauguration several years ago now. The ambience is small and intimate, rather different from Gleneagles where I last had an afternoon tea.

Needless to say what we couldn’t eat from the plate of sandwiches and tier of scones and cakes came home with us in 2 doggy bags. The contents will not be eaten tonight, I can assure you. I had enough calories in one hour this afternoon to last for the rest of the week.
