Beethoven Weekend

Sage Gateshead - all nine symphonies in two days.

We booked this six months ago, put it in the diary, and forgot all about it. Then February came round, reality struck and we wondered - was it such a good idea as it had seemed such a long time ago.

Well, it was the most fantastic idea and I’m loving every minute. Superb first day. Two symphonies this morning, two this afternoon and two this evening. Top class orchestras with charismatic conductors, brilliant introductions to each one given by John Suchet - an inspired idea. And the wonderful Sage - acoustics so perfect that the whole hall is filled with a depth of sound and every note can be heard.

Fabulous in every way. And more tomorrow.
