Wet N Wild

When D suggested a walk round Coniston I was expecting a gentle stroll along the lake but what I actually got was a 7.5 mile uphill hike in wind, rain, sleet and hail. I don’t think I’ve ever been so cold in my life. Despite having waterproof jackets and trousers we were soaked to the skin. Our walking clothes and boots are currently hanging all around the house, drying out.
After getting home and showering, we veg’d for a bit then went for a drink in a tiny little pub down the road. They had hundreds of different beers on offer including one claiming to be the strongest beer in the world at 67.5 %. We didn’t bother trying that one.
Steak and chips at home tonight and a wet weather plan for the next 2 days.
