21/365 Business as usual

At the last count today, 267 schools were closed in the county - we weren't one of them! It was business as usual for us and I actually didn't mind - this was the first year I have ever been able to walk to work so I made the most of it, donned my wellies and trekked in.

When I lived at home I worked about 30 minutes away and had a cross country drive to brave - my headteacher at the time prided herself on not closing the school for snow so we always knew we were in and set off on our journeys hours in advance!

Since I have lived here I have had to contend with braving the journey to get the girls to nursery. A nursery on a farm, down a hill in the middle of nowhere is a fabulous selling point in the middle of Summer but after driving there for 5 years I had perfected the sideways car slide down the driveway! It often looked I had parked perfectly to people who hadn't seen me arrive.

This year I made the most of trying to take some nice shots before the children arrived and we opened for business as usual.
