What is he after?

Farily dull day at work trying to get a job finished. Managed to get it tested and away to run through the next system.

Left early to pick up Eco daughter from her trampolining and take her to her drama class. Met up with old running pal at the school and walked down the road chatting.

After tea, helped Eco son with his Science revision as he has a test tomorrow. Spent a while chatting to him going over things and trying to improve his notes.

Just went through and Eco Son had spread his mum some scones with raspberry jam and also brought a drink of juice through for her.

Why does such kindness generate the question 'What is he after?'...is this because it is not normal behaviour?
