...pete's olive tree at the end of our street is laden with fruit and he will be thrilled after tending the tree from a teeny, and non fruiting, sapling to this sturdy olive tree.

I learned a mouth puckering lesson some years ago in France when plucking an olive from a pathside tree groaning with luscious fruit and munching on it.
Eeeeeew....never again!
