Baguettes and beer
One of the french influences in Guinea is bread. Our breakfasts consisted of freshly baked baguettes sold out of wheelbarrows along the road to the office. It was really quite something to experience and took me back to visiting France getting up early for freshly baked baguettes and coffee. Such a stark contrast. Only here the coffee was the most delicious packets of 3 in 1 coffee which I enjoyed eating my baguette with omelet and mayonnaise. The mornings here were also wonderfully cool and fresh.
I have fond memories of food from Guinea. It was so good! I haven’t been drinking much at all for a while but I did try the Guinean beer which was good, especially after a full day of work. Santé!
