The Greig Street Confectioner

This corner shop is now a Lloyds Pharmacy, but I suspect one of their signs must have blown down, exposing another sign from previous times. Isn't that wonderful? I imagine that many modern shop signs are erected over older ones, so there must be a treasure trove of shop archaeology out there. I noticed in Glasgow recently, a west end cafe had actually used the old painted sign. Either that or they were very clever with their brush work..
