Aberdour Castle, Fife

This isn't a great shot, but there's a story attached to it ......when I was a teenager, my dad applied for, and after a series of interviews , was offered the position of curator of the castle. He'd have loved it, being very keen on history and gardening. Unfortunately, he hadn't told my mum that he'd applied for the position and when they went to see the living quarters (which were part of the castle), my mum wasn't taken with the lack of central heating, the huge open fireplace which, in her words, 'would take a sack of coal just to get started' or the narrow spiral staircase without bannister! Needless to say, dad didn't accept the position! What an adventure it would have been for busboy and myself though!

Visited here today in snowy, freezing weather with my brother busboy and Bb.
