Old Belem

Wandered down the old part of Belem today, with the intention of 'getting on the river' for sunset, but not to be. The heavens opened over lunch and stayed open all day and it's still raining heavily and now 11pm! Never mind, the walk down to the Docas area was interesting, as was our second walk this month through the Ver O Peso market. Next Saturday's our last full day and our last chance to do a boat ride and so we're crossing everything for good weather. Tomorrow morning's the Sunday artisan fair at the Praca Republica. Can't quite believe that week 4 (the last week) of this course is about to start! The month hasn't been without its little challenges! Dengue fever, mozzies, my colleague's bad throat and my bad back this last week have all been up there! The course itself has been relatively problem free though. Let's just hope our assessor, who's with us on Wednesday, agrees!
