Moturata, island of rata

I lived at Taieri Beach when I taught there. This island is so significant to the area. Sometimes it is an island and other times you can walk to it. Past generations destroyed the rata trees which covered it but the locals are trying to re establish them. Can you imagine the island bright with red flowers of the rata tree. I hope it happens.
