Diary of an Edinburgher

Steps trick!

I've discovered an easy way to add over 2,000 steps without doing anything extra - I keep my phone in my pocket around the house, and half an hour on the bike! Archie supervised my efforts (Extra).

A new potential walker, Mary, came to visit this morning. Turns out, she used to walk Bailey, Archie's long time schnauzer girlfriend. We reminisced about Janet, Bailey's mum, who sadly died last year. Bailey now lives in Glasgow. I showed her some old photos. This one still makes me laugh. Archie went through his tricks, stole her gloves and untied her laces. She still seemed quite keen.

While Mary was here, there was a horizontal blizzard whizzing by the windows. But after she'd gone, the sun came out, and actually stayed out all afternoon. We took Archie up the hill, wearing his coat (not happy) and there was plenty of snow on the Fife hills and the Pentlands. Archie and JR walked home (to get their steps up). I drove. And yes, he had another bath!

Later on, Rufus and his mum popped in, as their hallway and kitchen was being sanded and varnished all day, and they couldn’t go home till 7pm. Christine arrived with a bottle of gin, cans of tonic, grapefruit for garnish and crisps - an excellent visitor!
