Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

More of the same. Pavements still OK to walk on - snowy and not yet icy.

After an early phone call from a pal in NZ (with great news on the sale of her house) I got hooked on the tennis. I’m a bit of a Kyrgios fan, so had to watch his match with Thiem, which went to five sets. Then I watched the Djokovic match, with a young chap (Fritz) who pushed him to five sets. Part way through the match, the players went off, and the audience were told to leave at 11.30 (local time) as they had to be home by midnight to start a five day lockdown. Good on those Aussies - they move quickly!

Our friends (with a toddler) who have just completed a 14 day lockdown on arrival in Melbourne, will get out and go into another one, but this time in a house. With a garden.

JR took Archie for a walk while I watched tennis. They spotted another igloo - a posh one, with windows! (Extra)

I had seen yet another local igloo on Twitter, and so we went in search of it, but it had been demolished! Who would do that? Archie and I walked along to watch the sledgers for a while. Dozens of ‘em. Big and small. Archie barked his head off at a passing helicopter, and managed to scare it off!

Cricket, tennis and rugby tomorrow! I may not venture outside.
