The different faces of
.......Crosby today, when we literally blew in for a visit!!! It was a bright, but very windy and cold morning, nevertheless we stuck to our plan. We parked on Marine Terrace and headed to the promenade, only to be met by big puddles half way along the paths, so it was a romp over the sanddunes.
We could hear the sea roaring before we could see it! The tide was very high and quite rough. The remnants of storm Ciara very evident along the promenade coastal walk, as you can see in the main central image, lots of debris had been washed up and there was more sand on the path, to the left of the black railings, than on the dunes to the right!!
We got soaked momentarily, as a shower blew in, which you can see in the lower left shot! We sought shelter under the swimming baths awning!
Afterwards we walked to my friends deli for lunch, which was delicious, before walking back through the village across the park, around the lake, by which time the sun had come out, as you can see in the top images......even the noating lake looked rough lol!
Think it will be a while before people can walk or cycle right the way along the coastal path, as the council have a fair amount of clearing up to do!!
