Soon to be a Basics Market

Eric has to arrive early for last minute rehearsing, so I had over an hour to spare before the JCO performance today. I walked over to nearby Hillsdale and wandered along the main strip of shops, stopping in at a used clothing place, checked out the sale rack at Paloma, and continued on to the Library.
Along the way I noticed the big Food Front Co-op market is closed. It closed at the end of the year after struggling with too much debt. On the way home, we drove by the original store on NW Thurman and saw that it is still open and appears to be thriving.
A new store, Basics Market, will open soon. It'll be store number 4 in the area; I have yet to visit one, but the claim is that you "Visit us to shop, cook, and learn. We’ve got free classes, healthful recipes, simplified selection of groceries, and fresh ingredients."
