Water, water...water everywhere!

Storm Ciara arrived in full force over night with torrential, monsoon like rains and hurricane force winds. The impact has been horrifying for the Calder Valley with Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Todmorden suffering extreme flooding yet again. It's heartbreaking to see these communities ripped apart again by the flood waters especially for those in Mytholmroyd where they've been in the midst of 32 million pounds worth of flood defence work. Unfinished...the storm didn't wait. 

The community will no doubt come together once more but how long can they keep fighting their way back. There needs to be some serious changes up the valley to help limit the impact lower down in the valley. 

The fields around me are lakes, the country lanes rivers and many little family run businesses destroyed. You've got to count your blessings when you're sat writing this in a warm, dry house...
