Imbolc

This tree in the forest was damaged in the stormy weather we had a few weeks ago, so the decision has been made to fell it.  It looks a fine bit of timber and it smells so wonderful.

Last night was yoga night at Tuppenny Barn and I had a lovely relaxing session.  Our teacher at present is a young woman with a little boy of about four months in age.  As her husband also likes to attend her class, they bring along their little boy who sits at the front on a mat watching us - often with a big grin on his face; every so often he crawls off to investigate us more closely.  He seems to find the whole experience very interesting and exciting.  I know it wouldn't be to everyone's liking but I am really enjoying having this little person join our classes.

This week the class was focussed on this being the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, so called 'Imbolc' - Celtic  meaning 'in the belly' and being a festival of light and celebrating (the later Saint) Brigid, the goddess of fire, fertility, midwifery and the young.  It was gentle and a very lovely 90 minutes that we, our class of ten, spent together.
