Birthday Treat

After teaching English in Saintes this morning, Mrs SoL and I had my birthday lunch in the floating restaurant Batiâ, moored on the banks of the Charente in the centre of town. It was lovely. The remaining afternoon was spent moving large rocks from one part of the garden to another, in readiness for a man with a digger, due tomorrow. Extra pics are of the view towards the bow, plus update on the deforestation that I took during the walk with Elvis this morning. I calculate that around one square kilometre has been cut down now. The remaining large trees are spaced out; the other landscape pic shows how dense the wood on the other side of the field looks in comparison. Done something to my back during the rock relocation effort, so I’m hoping it will have eased by tomorrow.
