Protest to protect

I joined the protest at Grasmere, organised by Houseboats off Grasmere and Friends of the Lake District to protest about the threat of commercialism in the National Park. The plan to moor 10 pleasure boats on Grasmere for use as holiday lets has been withdrawn by Lowther Estates following objections, but I felt it was important to show determination to continue the fight for the future. I did join the other swimmers in the water, but in pouring rain and gusts of icy winds we didn't stay in long (and only a few of us wore wetsuits.) See extra!
