Charfield Hill Bankside

One of the local volunteer efforts Janet is involved in is the Clean Up Green Up Charfield group. They operate with the support of the Parish Council (of course) and have carried out many improvements to the public spaces in and around the village over the years. This is one of them.

The bank on Charfield Hill as you come down into the village was once rampant with bramble and nettle. After several years of clearing, trimming and planting, it is a gorgeous feature adding a bit of colour and a joy for those who manage the walk up, or drive through.

This is a small section. The snowdrops are beginning to spread into small drifts, the cyclamen and daffodil popping up between the aconite and celandine leaves. As the village is (over) developed, perhaps these spaces will help make it a prettier place for everyone.
