Visitor

I've been putting out water for the birds who visit, but hadn't expected to entice the wonderful yellow tailed black cockatoo.
Two, in fact.

This is not great quality as  i shot it through a dirty kitchen window.
A couple of weeks ago we had mud rain and I thought I'd wait a while, in case it happened again.
But, hey, I was happy to get anything.

I can tell you this is a male, as he has a pink eye ring, a black/grey upper bill and a smaller yellow cheek patch than the female, though as we rarely see them this close it would normally be difficult to tell.

It's been a stinker of a day, 42' at the back door, in the shade.
Four fires at emergency level in the ACT and south east of NSW, but fortunately, no casualties.
