All drugged up .....

Another early start to get everything fed before the vet arrived for the second part of our cattle TB test . Today he was checking all the cows that were injected on Friday to see if any had reacted to the TB injection. Thankfully, by 3pm we had been through all 265 and they were all clear. That’s them for another 4 years.
We are lucky, in other parts of the UK, more prone to TB than Scotland , they have to test every year, especially in parts of Wales and Ireland .
As we were handling all the cows any way , I injected them with ivermectin to kill any stomach worms, liver fluke and parasites.
As a matter of interest ,I was looking up an old farm diary from 1993 and when the ivermectin drug first came out, it cost £185 for a 500ml bottle. Now with all the generic copies, a bottle is around £50. Shows you how much a patent is worth .
