Our Kathy
I write about her all the time. We go to see her every week. I thought that it was time to feature her here. I met her not long after we moved here. I had an unresolved knee injury from before the move and I felt out of shape as a result and unready to join a new unknown class. Kathy is a physical therapist who is also a certified Pilates instructor. As if that weren't enough talent for one person, she also studied dance for many years and has the body and grace of a dancer. I was referred by my neighbor Cindy for some private Pilates tune-up sessions.
Cindy has never steered me wrong. As a realtor she is used to referring newcomers to services and workers, and was able to tell us where to find everything from well diggers and kitchen designers to hairdressers and personal trainers. Many of them, like Kathy, have become good personal friends.
After a few sessions with her, Kathy referred me to some classes in the same studio and I met the teachers with whom I still study. When she opened her own private studio at her home, I was ready to follow her anywhere, even though it is quite a trek to get there.
It is a minor miracle that between the two of us Kathy and I managed to talk John into coming with me. I felt that I was going to ensure he went, but as you can see from the extras, he loves Kathy as much as I do. I wouldn't say we were the well oiled machines we like to think we once were, but she has kept us mobile, happy and well taped,*cupped**manipulated*** and exercised.
There is nothing I can say to adequately express how grateful we are, not only to have Kathy and all her expertise in our lives but to have her for a friend. She is a gem....
*Kiniesiotape designed to support joints and help reduce swelling
**accupuncture suction cups which act as a massage by pulling tissue instead of pushing it
