Mother Bear Project

This is just part of a display in the window of the yarn shop. The bears were all hand knit by clients who attended a knit/along event for the Mother Bear Project.

The Mother Bear Project is an organization ‘dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of s hand knit or crocheted Bear. The simple gift of a hand knit Beavers with s tag signed by the knitter has touched children with the message that they are unconditionally loved.’

I wish it were that simple, but it’s a start. Better than cutting off funding and shutting down the government. There is s Coast Histd Station outside Petaluma and many stores and restaurants are offering free or discounted food to the families of those who are working without pay.

We’re becoming a third world country....
