Grandad's 100th Birthday
A fine calm morning, with a breeze picking up this afternoon, with mist rolling in, along with drizzle showers.
Another day working on the museum desk. It's been a fairly quiet day again, but I was kept busy working on the door display. A lazy evening by the fire, some walkies with Sammy, and then off to work in the pub later.
I've been thinking a lot about grandad Maikie this last while, as it starting approaching his 100th birthday, which would have been today. I can hardly believe he's been gone almost 12 years now, and still missed. He was an only child, unusual for the time, served in the Royal Navy during WWII, be ran a shop in Cunningsburgh, then worked in fish factories in Scalloway before retiring. Living next door to granny and grandad, we spent loads of time with them growing up. Popped by with a photo birthday card of all the grandbairns, and also some flowers, miss you Maikie (Malcolm) Christie aka grandad. Taken in the Mail graveyard, Cunningsburgh.
