Storm Gloria
Back blip
Storm Gloria continued all day. Our big concern today was that our hyacinth hibiscus tree on the patio, which has been growing since we bought the house 20 years ago, was going to be blown down. It's tied onto our outside stair railings and so I was worried that it would take the railings with it! Bb was less concerned - but did take the precaution of buying an extra cord from our local hardware store in case the cord snapped. Another day when I didn't venture out all day except at night when it calmed down a little and we went to La Perla for something to eat - a 3 min walk away. We've unpacked from Rio, but with all of this going on we haven't been to the shops yet for groceries.
I did some online Aptis marking and some online work and am glad my fitbit reminds me to do 250 steps an hour! It was so dark all day today that Bb and I both said we'd happily get on a plane back to Rio!
In saying that, thank goodness we got back here before this storm happened as our neighbours would have had to deal with our roof terrace yesterday. Poor Bb had to go up to IESE and got soaked to the skin on the way home. IESE isn't on a bus route and there were no taxis for love nor money and so he had to walk to the nearest bus stop in really torrential rain. Everything right down to his underwear was dripping!
My blip is another shot of the patio from inside.
