Pit!

As a young child I played card games endlessly and at family get-togethers I was delighted when anyone suggested playing Pit. It's described as the World's Liveliest Party Game which sums it up well as it's noisy, boistrous and fun. You have to act quickly, be crafty, shout out loud and, as with most card games, be good at numbers.
The original game was launched in 1904, this box is probably circa 1940-50. Later versions introduced coffee, oranges, sugar and soya beans into the commodoties and in 2004 for the centenary they used cocoa, platinum, gold, cattle, oil, rice, silver and gas.
We did have fun in the old days, didn't we!
