Alesund

We had a gently rocky sail from Bergen but it was raining seriously as our captain docked skilfully in the beautiful town of Alesund.

It’s exceptionally warm here at present, but we know we’ll find snow etc as we head north.

We were so lucky this morning. The deluge paused with even a splash of sunshine as we had a stroll to look at the street art and the Art Nouveau buildings with Eva, our excellent tour manager.

This is no glitzy cruise ship. It’s a car ferry and a postal boat, working to a timetable. But it’s so much more......

The food is fabulous. The crew brilliant and we’ll be having our first lecture from our Astronomy guide after lunch.

Then we head for Molde with a continuing dodgy weather forecast.

P.S. if you didn’t see my Bergen Airport loo picture that I added yesterday, you might be interested to have a quick look. Norway is such a creative and artistic society.
