Sunny Sunday
(Edited 20.01.2020 after I returned to blurb and realised most of my posting was missing!)
A bitterly cold day today, but stunningly bright lighting, which gladdened the heart after all our recent spells of heavy rain. Mind you, I had a deliciously lazy start to the day with a mug of tea & square of flapjack while still tucked up in bed.
My Boy apparently set off very early today and headed down to the south coast to catch the sunrise, bright shots during the day and stayed until sunset, sending lots of messages and pictures showing his photography adventure. I’m guessing they should be up on his Instagram account soon. Bless him.
The only things of note from me today was that I made another gluten-free cake (see pic 3 showing a slice of the cake served up alongside the handmade coffee cup made by our friend Ali) for Mr A – coffee & almond this time – then went for a walk in a large circular route taking in a visit to the cathedral, where I lit a candle for my Dad and said a few quiet words to him (I consider myself to be an atheist but spiritual). I always choose to go to the Lady Chapel (see pic 2) to do this as it is so beautifully peaceful. Anyway, on the way, I noticed that an ancient tree had been cut down, allowing a fresh view of the cathedral (you can see the tree stump in the foreground).
One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was that it was exactly one year since Mum moved to her new flat. We should have had a little tot to celebrate, eh?
Thought for the day:
“The person who sends out positive thoughts activates the world around him positively and draws back to himself positive results.” (Norman Vincent Peale)
