What a difference a day makes
Yesterday was mostly grey and wet but today we have brilliant sunshine and white clouds in a deep blue sky.
The campsite where we are currently staying is in the middle of nowhere. We have crossed the border into Spain but are so close to it still that there is a strong Portuguese influence, noticeable in the greetings that we receive on our walks.
This campsite just have been excellent once and was seemingly created with an EU grant. It has however been closed for some time and although recently reopened still shows signs of neglect.
Our welcome was warm and cheerful and as we were the only guests it was necessary to turn on the hot water etc. This was quickly done.
The site sits beneath an amazing ridge, over which fly Griffon Vultures in large number. I took this shot on the dog walk this morning as we are too close on site to photograph the hills. Despite the number of birds in the air this morning the camera seems to have failed to capture any!
Across the valley is another ridge, of more rounded character but no less striking in appearance. I shall attempt to upload an extra for comparison.
