Exhausted

These musicians had just played a spirited performance of the Schubert octet in F.  At an hour long, it is a marathon for the eight players.

This was the second half of the second concert in the day by members of the Nash Ensemble.  The cellist (Adrian Brendel, the son of Alfred) in particular had had a very busy day - he played in every single piece, including a performance of the Arpeggione Sonata, also by Schubert.

The octet was the culmination of another enjoyable visit to London.  We travelled up by the 1200 train from Norwich (note to self, we could have coped with a slightly later train), had a mid afternoon  meal at a rather nice Lebanese restaurant, enjoyed the two concerts, and then caught the late train back home.  

It makes for a long day, but we have no pressing appointments/tasks on Sunday, so were able to have a lie in.
