Portent
Cloud for the most part gave way to the south for a short spell in the late afternoon allowing for some wonderful light under a dark sky. The nearest trees were darkly silhouetted against a bright sky and the far shore across the lake softly muted. I could feel the groundswell of bad weather approaching.
Almost no processing required on this image. Raising the shadows would serve no purpose and negate the strong light. There is no colour to worry about or exploit. I think the sharper branches and twigs in the foreground contrast beautifully against the soft distant view.
