Routin Lynn Waterfall, Northumberland

Today was the third and final outing of my group for this year's Group Challenge at our camera club (see here and here).

We drove round quite a lot of the county visiting places which are interesting and/or beautiful but not as well-known as (for example, Bamburgh and Alnwick).

The main blip is part of the rather lovely Routin Lynn waterfall, a bit north of Wooler. Getting to it is a bit of a scramble along a steep path with a fallen tree blocking it, but it's worth the effort (especially after the wet winter we've had).

The first extra is "Willie" - a steel sculpture made from tractor parts and horseshoes by a local farmer . It's at the crossorads between the A697 Wooler road and the B6341 between Rotherbury and Alnwick. We thought it must be pretty old, but a local lady walking her dog told us it's only 2-3 years old (she was also the one who told us "his" name).

We finished the day at Doddo Stone Circle as daylight was fading, so we had to use "light painting" to show up the stones (2nd extra).

Of course I took loads of other photos which I may have time to put into a Google album tomorrow - I was too late back to do so today.
