The day of the doorman

Hanging doors is a specialist skill. We had three done today: two fire and one ordinary.  Looks lovely and makes you realise that you often take them for granted. More money of course. Made me stop and add up how much we have spent on our home in the last year. When you add together roof works, outside house painting, decorating, flooring, doors, drain clearance and the forthcoming central heating and boiler works I think it tops out at somewhere between Oh My God and temporarily losing consciousness. But the place looks lovely, the roof doesn’t leak and the drains aren’t blocked. Hopefully it will last a few years. 

Today was a bit of a catch-up day at work with interludes for coffee and a vegan meatball panini from Cafe Nero. Rather delish. Am enjoying veganuary this year, there is lots of choice.
