A place in time

How hot?

This is remains of the bedroom window in my Mum's flat, which was right by the seat of the fire in August.  Apparently, it is due to be replaced at the end of this month.  In the meantime, repairs, cleaning & general refurbishment are now coming along nicely, so with any luck she might be able to move back into her flat sometime in February.

The second pic shows the light fitting from the bedroom - hanging down from the centre (and the thing that looks like a bit of straw to the bottom right) is what remains of the melted lightbulb, which drooped from the ceiling to the floor!

On a good note, Mum finally seems to be over her awful cold and was pretty chipper today.  However, it's a shame that the Cubii exerciser seems to have aggravated the pain in one of her hips, so has been packaged up for return.

Also, I went along to Line Dancing today and it was great, as always.  I know people mock, but I'm guessing they are the ones who have never tried it.  Oh, and no, in case you wonder...I don't do country line dancing, all stetsons and spurs, but dance to things like Senorita, Miss Congeniality, Hot Shot, Damn and Swamp Thing.   Woo hoo!

Thought for the day:

"When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.  It's to enjoy each step along the way."  (Wayne Dyer)
