The 2020 Montane Spine Race - The Pennine Way - has been passing through the village, in fact Dufton Village Hall has been one of the checking stations. Gordon saw a couple of people taking part and sent me the Tracker where you can find any of the competitors and follow their progress. I caught up with Number 172 Wouter Huitzing from the Netherlands and watched the map (see extra) as he came down from High Cup Nick and into the village. Gordon went up to find him and sent me a text - I was then ready to take a picture from my window as he passed the house. Not a good picture, as it was through the window in the last of the light (using flash set up far too many reflections), but fortunately he was walking, or else it would have been utterly hopeless. 

An amazing thing to do, especially in Winter - 'a truly epic challenge that will test your physical resilience and mental fortitude'. And what weather they have had - almost continuous rain today and even snow on the tops.
