Calm Before Storm

A Winter Storm Warning was issued for this evening until Sunday morning with dire warnings of all kinds of mayhem. But, for now, the afternoon is calm, with clouds blocking out the early sunshine.

In a patch of open water between two sheets of milky white ice a few remaining reeds stand tall, casting their inky black shadows on the surface.
