Mammatus Clouds

We saw these clouds when we were out walking this morning. My cloud book “A Cloud A Day”, by Gavin Pretoria-Pinney, refers to these formations as “Mamma Clouds”. 

Supposedly a sign of bad weather coming. Our Met Service is also warning of 80-120mm of rain in the headwaters...why can’t this rain go to Australia and help the firefighters out??
